Can we reuse our existing receipt printers and barcode scanners?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. If your receipt printer is a standard ESC/POS printer (such as Epson TM-T88 or Star TSP143) with an Ethernet or USB connection, and your barcode scanner connects via USB or Bluetooth, they will work with VPS RetailGrid without needing replacement.
Do we have to buy expensive proprietary touchscreens or iPads?
No. VPS RetailGrid runs on standard web browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari). You can run it on Windows 10/11 touch terminals, existing desktop computers, Apple Macs, iPads, Android tablets, or affordable Chromebooks.
How does integrated EFTPOS work with VPS RetailGrid?
With Tyro Payments integration, the total sale amount is automatically sent directly from your register screen to the EFTPOS terminal. Your cashier does not have to re-key amounts, preventing costly human errors and streamlining checkout speed. You can also use standalone bank EFTPOS machines.
Can different stores in our chain use different hardware?
Yes. Because VPS RetailGrid is cloud-managed, Store A can run Windows touch terminals with Epson printers while Store B runs iPads with Star Micronics printers. All stores report back into the same centralised inventory and sales reporting system.
